A timeline from 1975 to Present Day
1975
In 1975, Capilano was called Edco Construction. It grew from a small roadbuilding/construction company to a builder of the Coquihalla Highway. Edco Construction also built Highways 2, 3, 16, 23, and 99, the Sea-to-Sky Highway. Many projects in Whistler were also done by Edco, consisting of hydro, railway, and mining infrastructure projects.
1988
In 1988, the company name was changed to Capilano Highway Services to reflect the company’s new direction in the Sea to Sky corridor and the Sunshine Coast.
Present Day
To this day, with our partner companies Curtis Paving and Miller Capilano, we operate and maintain a great area of the Sea to Sky Highway from Horseshoe Bay to Duffey Lake in Pemberton. We provide highway services for the Sunshine Coast with the same standard of excellence we have been providing from the beginning.
